Best Omakase in Tokyo (2026): 20 Top Counters by Budget — and How to Actually Book Them

Looking for the best omakase in Tokyo? Most lists stop at the famous names, and many of those are impossible to book. This guide is different: every counter below is among the highest rated by Japanese diners in our Top 100 Restaurants data for Tokyo, and for each one we say how a visitor can actually get a seat and roughly what it costs. Booking routes and prices were checked in November 2026.

Omakase (お任せ, “I’ll leave it to you”) means the chef decides the meal. At a sushi counter that is usually a few small dishes followed by 12–20 pieces of nigiri served one at a time. Tempura and kaiseki restaurants serve omakase courses too. For etiquette and how reservations work, see our first-timer’s guide to booking omakase sushi.

Ratings are out of 5 from Japanese diners: above 3.6 is excellent, above 4.0 exceptional. Prices are per person, before drinks, and change with the season.
